Often when it does not work a step has been missed. You did uninstall in Add/Remove Programs? You did delete the Registry key? You did reboot before installing as Windows Media Player\SP0\Q828026. This not what was in the instructions. I only deleted the latter. Is there an issue here (I have win xp pro)? Harvey.

And the funny thing is that some let say avi files with a Xvid codec work fine with the seek and some did not... But i found out that if i take the files that do not work from the libary it dont work, but if i take then directly from the harddisk and drag&drop then into WMP11 the files now work with seek.

I suppose using msconfig | startup tab you could go through the lengthy process of stopping some programs from starting with windows and see if that helps.
